Government Grants and Rebates for Home Renovations
ecoENERGY Retrofit
for Homes provides home and property owners with grants of up to $5,000 to offset the
cost of making energy-efficiency
improvements.
ecoENERGY Retrofit
grants apply to a host of measures
that reduce energy consumption
and provide for a cleaner environment,
from increasing insulation to upgrading
a furnace.
Only
homes that have undergone a residential
energy efficiency assessment by
an energy advisor certified by
Natural Resources Canada will
be eligible
for grants.
Home
Energy Audit and Retrofit Rebate
Programs.To
help homeowners save energy,
save money and help reduce greenhouse
gas emissions, the Ontario government
has created
the Ontario Home Energy Audit
and Retrofit Rebate Programs.
These
programs provide home owners with
up to $150 towards the cost of
a home energy audit and rebates
of up to $10,000 (50% paid by the
province and 50% paid by the federal
ecoENERGY Retrofit Program) for
retrofits that address issues identified
in the audit report.
As
part of the Government of Canada's Economic
Action Plan, the ecoENERGY Retrofit-Homes program has been expanded to help 200,000 more homeowners cover the cost of making energy-efficiency
retrofits to their homes. The expanded time-limited
program includes a $100-million increase in
funding over the final years of the program
as named by the government in late 2009.

Program - Guelph - Get a $40 rebate when you replace your old toilets that have
a flush volume of 13 litres or more with new 6-litre low flush toilets. A $60
rebate is available for dual-flush toilets or high-efficiency (4.8 litres or

Region of Peel
Toilet Rebate Program - Get a $60 rebate when you replace your old, inefficient
toilet with an eligible water-efficient 6-litre toilet. Rebates of $100 are

TAPS
program - Get free delivery and installation of a
water-saving kit and energy-efficient light bulbs. Homeowners must use natural
