Inspectors are always great at explaining findings to my first-time homebuyers, which I appreciate. I find it increasingly common that today's younger homebuyers have grown up without helping around their parent's house, and have close to zero knowledge in repairing or maintaining a home! I always tell them them that a Carson Dunlop buyer's home inspection is money well spent, in learning how to care for the new home they've just purchased.

He is very knowledgeable. He has a calm deliberate manner. It was easy to reach him after the inspection as with a 113 year old house there were more questions than usual . He gave very good advice which I related to the homeowners. This was a rare ridicule situation in that the current owners bought the property in an auction paying over asking. I was not their agent at the time. They purchased through the listing agent. They were supplied a house inspection report from Pettigrew that was in my opinion more than misleading. II would categorize it.as containing false information. Likewise the listing also misrepresents the condition of the property. Unfortuately the ensuing discussions were difficult. Philip was helpful as we chose to replace the furnace as this was an easier fix than tacking the knob and tube wiring. So a difficult outcome was handled in the best possible way.
